Quantities

I have detailed below a Guideline to the quantities of Cake required:

The tradition is for Wedding Cake to be served as a small piece with Coffee and Champagne after the Wedding Breakfast and just prior to the Speeches. Many people choose otherwise and this is obviously completely your decision. The number of Guests will have a direct baring on the type and style of Cake, however for larger Weddings it is perfectly acceptable to have ‘cutting cakes’ behind the scenes for example.

As a rough guide—Rich Fruit Cake is served in 1” square portions and Sponge/Chocolate in 2” x 1” Portions.

So ……. It’s a Piece of Cake!

5”Round/ 4”Square 6”Round / 5”Square 7”Round/ 6”Square 8”Round/ 7”Square 9”Round/ 8”Square 10”Round/ 9”Square 12”Round/ 11”Square
Rich Fruit Cake      16      24      34      46      58      70     100
Sponge Cake       8      12      17      23      29      35      50

The above should be used as a Guide only—when you send your enquiry I will calculate the most appropriate size based on the number of Guests attending; the amount of spare cake you wish to have for sending portions to Guests who were unable to attend; The style of the Cake you wish to have; Whether you wish to retain the Top Tier which is traditionally saved for the Christening of your first child.
